Mark Nemesis: The Main Characters

1. Meet Mark Mannix alias Mark Nemesis. A twenty-three year old artist who digs comics, house music, acid jazz, Sony Playstation and ice cream. Oh yeah, Mark just happens to be a warlock. Mark's only real desire is to become famous using his mystical abilities. Unfortunately he draws more unintentional attention to himself when he goes public with his abilities. He considered using his powers a fun game which quickly becomes deadly serious. At the risk of hell on earth the Enclave of the Seven informs Mark of his true destiny. He of course is not so easily convinced.

2. This is Nadia Mannix, sister of Mark. A Twenty-two year old 1st year law student, who shares her brother's love of house music as well as electronica, and rap. Although undisciplined at her parents request, she too has mystical abilities. Nadia often acts as a mediator between her headstrong brother and their overprotective parents. Extremely close to her brother, she is privy to secrets about Mark no one else knows…

3. Say hello to Mack. Mack's a bit of a redneck, some would even consider him a racist . At least he was when he was alive. Mack was a trucker who met his untimely death when he fell asleep at the wheel of his rig. So how is it that one day he shows up very much alive? Clearly more than human? And becomes Mark Nemesis's closest friend and confidant? How indeed.

4. Introducing Francis Austin. One hundred and twenty year old grandmother to Mark and Nadia. Francis strongly disagrees with her daughter's decision to raise her children outside of the doctrines of the Enclave. She also disagrees with the secret sect's beliefs that Mark is some sort of "chosen one". Nevertheless, she does believe her grandson is destined for greatness and has taken it upon herself to formally train Mark in the ways of the mystic arts. Francis Austin believes that training is absolutely crucial. It's only a matter of time she feels, before Mark goes up against something his fledgling abilities can't handle.

5. Her name is Taylor Phoenix. She is one of a handful of female applicants to successfully complete Naval Seal training. An accomplished assassin, Taylor went on to become one of the CIA's top operatives. In 1992 Taylor Phoenix became the department head and paranormal field trainer of the Project Premonition . Cold, calculating, and ruthless, are just a few adjectives used to describe Taylor's demeanor. Even so, it appears that Taylor will develop strong feelings for the neophyte Mark Nemesis.

6. Meet Professor Peter Taggert, aloof 43 year old anatomy and life drawing instructor at the University of the Arts. His life goes from the mundane to the fantastic after befriending his most unique student…

7. This is Ara Ogun. The Daemon Maelstrom. Simply put, he is a destroyer of worlds. A Chaos bringer. Little is known about the origins of Maelstrom. Some suggest he is a fallen angel. While others believe he may have been human once. What is known is that he has waged war with other deities and has ravaged other Earths throughout the multiverse. His motivations are unknown to all save perhaps to the elite of the Enclave.

8. His true name is Orish Baka, son of Maelstrom. Baka, having assumed human form, has lived amongst us for seventy-three years. He is a grand manipulator and enjoys dispensing strife. Currently, he has embraced the role of assassin and protector of Benazir Bhutto newly appointed Madam President of Pakistan. Baka in effect, organizes much of the country's drug trafficking as well as supporting various terrorist groups against the United States. Taylor Phoenix, although aware of his activities is ignorant to his true origins.

9. Project Premonition Cell one. A elite ESPER strikeforce trained for paranormal engagement, political and corporate destabilization and disinformation, and anti-terrorist protocols. There are at least three other cells independently working within the project.

Amber Mckenzie, pyrokinetic.
Kevin Pierce, psi induced hyper speed.

10. Demons. It was always my plan to design several distinctively different types of demons. But when the time came, save for one design everything I sketched seemed rather… trite. I was stumped. Well never let it be said that we live in a creative vacuum. Philadelphia has many comic book artists and I know most of them. I asked my good friend Paris Cullins to see what he could come up with. His head was already there with the religious leather latex sex bondage work he was already producing. (There's a reason why we're still friends!) Great stuff but not for the timid.
