It has been said that mankind’s scientific achievements far exceed humanity’s conscience. Even in the future, this saying has proved to be true.
The tumultuous history of the children of Terra had prompted many changes of thought; yet, the basic elements of human achievements have remained stymied and unchanged when it came to its true nature. Man was still the naked beast, ruled by emotion and in many cases, his baser instincts. Noble are his causes, yet in many instances, personal foibles tainted the purity of his objectives.
In the year of 3507, humans had long since conquered the basics of space travel and with that achievement; they were also able to colonize the stars in an effort of expansion. Funded by corporate investors, they were able to explore, and encountered alien races, in our bid to share the stars.
In the process to prepare the Earthborn for space and alien environments, genetic augmentation through cellular manipulation heralded the beginnings of a new era of mankind. This need was inspired after a strange plague had ravaged over 50% of the human populace. The rise of the ‘Hyper-Sapient’ insured the continued survival and despite mutations and aberrations, they eventually stabilized into a viable faction. The end result was a hardier breed capable of superhuman feats.

The need for Hyper-sapient agents, people with special abilities and a willingness to risk their lives performing dangerous works, had been harnessed and organized under a specialized mercenary union called H.A.C.- the Hazardous Action Corp.
Among the many H.A.C. teams currently active is the elite squad known as the Cadre. The team consists of five paranormal operatives, led by the telepath Matrix, a former undercover intelligence agent with years of field service. His second in command and team medic is the agent codenamed Tangent, an African Prince who had the power to phase shift from intangible to invisible. The next is a human/alien hybrid named Duv with telekinetic abilities. She is an invaluable pilot of the team. They are joined by weapons expert and engineer: Aegis, who can create an impenetrable force field. The latest addition to the team is a former thief with the powers of super-speed known as Bolt.
