The Cadre: Character Development

Originally, I designed Aegis’ costume to cover more of her body. But I decided to reveal more of her skin when I realized that unlike most of her teammates she doesn’t need as much padded protection because of her super powers. I also wanted an asymmetrical design. I also wanted Aegis to have tattoos. This sketch reveals one designed version of the tattoos I had in mind. Eventually I settled on a design that covered her back and extended to the back of her shoulders.
