Paranormal Abilities: High Range Telekinesis

History: The term “DOVE” seems almost an oxymoron for Liang and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Duv, unknown to her teammates (with the exception of Matrix) is a mutant and not a paranormal—although she has psionic talent. Duv is half human/ half Xen, one of a small minority of half breed Xen. The Xen don’t believe in the mixing of blood, it taints the genetic perfection of the race. They do not acknowledge Duv as Xen, but as an abomination.

Duv’s father, Admiral Ryo Xian led many away missions to Xen’Phar. There he met and fell in love with a Kao’ lom nun, Sereni’T. Sereni’T left her order and married Duv’s father. But the marriage is not recognized by the Xen. She has become an ambassador, representing Xen’Phar in the Terran sector.

Sereni’T has trained Duv in the fundamentals of Kao’lom and its fighting arts. Despite certain human imperfections, Duv is a master of these arts. Because the bulk of her life was in seclusion from other people and so strict, Duv has become a bit of a rebel. She lives for adventure, placing herself on the edge. She accepts her heritage, but realizes that the Xen don’t except her.

Duv enlisted in the Hegemony to be a pilot. Upon completing the Flight academy, she was recruited into the Hegemony: Vanguard as an initiate. During a training assignment she took a blow to the head. The injury caused her to lose her TK abilities. The Terran doctors had no ideal of how to cure her, but wanted to try an experimental procedure to revive the abilities. The procedure would call for the implementation of a cyber device called Intracephalic Cybernetic Linkage Implant. The risk factor was extremely high, and at her mother suggestion she decides to resign her commission in the Hegemony and pursue other treatments. Duv was in transit to Xen’Phar on board a Hegemony transport that was hijacked and crashed on the planet where Death-Angel and the remnants of his organization had been in hiding. Duv helped to land the transport after the pilots were killed in the scuffle to regain control of the bridge. It was Matrix’s first Cadre squad that came to the rescue of the transport survivors. The Cadre managed to rescue most of the survivors, but at a high cost. Most of the team lost their lives battling Death-Angel’s mercs. Matrix’s daughter Ishtar helped save Duv but ensued fatal wounds from Death-Angel. Before dying she psychically communed with Duv. The communion did something to reactivate her TK abilities.

Duv decided to join Matrix’s Cadre squad feeling obligated to Ishtar for saving her life and reviving her powers. She also seems to have some of Ishtar’s memories and feels a special bond with Matrix. This new bond and the fact that she has decided not to rejoin the Hegemony have caused a rift between her and her father.
