History: Aegis’ parents are both computer specialist who work for Takahashi Inc. Like her parents, she has the same intellectual prowess for science, specifically weapons designs.
After graduating at the top of her class at the Cyberdyne Institute in New Atlantis. Aegis went to work for Takahashi’s weapons design division. She was on her way to becoming the youngest project directors at Takahashi, until an incident on one of her projects.
A weapons test that went horribly wrong, causing billions of dollars in damage and the deaths of many Takahashi employees. The only survivor of the accident, Aegis was held responsible and was forced to sign over all her design patents over to Takahashi Inc. to pay for the damage. She was terminated from her position at Takahashi Inc. and discovered that no other companies would hire her.
With no real job opportunities available in the Terran sector, Aegis ventured into the Alien sectors of space taking work as a freelance engineer on cargo freighters, space stations, and mining colonies. The work was mundane but it gave her an opportunity to study alien technology.
Eventually Aegis joined a H.A.C. franchise called the Black Trinity which met with tragedy on a mission, wiping out everyone but Aegis. She then hooked up with another H.A.C. squad the Hellcats, which ended in a similar fate. After becoming the sole survivor of a second H.A.C. team, Aegis began to believe that she was a jinx or cursed. So she then became a lone freelance H.A.C. agent.
Working Solo was hard and the pay was barely enough to live off, but she felt secure in the fact that no one else would fall victim to her bad luck. On an assignment to retrieve a new prototype generator, Aegis crossed paths with the Cadre.
The Cadre was also there for the generator, but for another client. Aegis was unsuccessful in getting the generator, but she managed to give the Cadre a real run for their money. Matrix was impressed that this lone woman came close to beating the entire team. When needing to recruit new people for the Cadre after the deaths of his first team, Aegis was at the top of his list of people to recruit.
Matrix and Tangent went to offer Aegis the job, but she was hesitant in accepting the offer because of her fears of destroying another squad. Tangent had told her that the Cadre had already been cursed with bad luck, referring to the death of his comrades of the first Cadre team. He reminded her that the kind of work they do is dangerous and everyone in this business knows the risks. Matrix tells her that joining the Cadre could change all of their luck. Aegis decides to give it a shot and joins the Cadre.
